About Woven Stars Farm:

Woven Stars Farm is a small, diversified biodynamic farm in Ghent, NY. Woven Stars is managed and farmed by partners, Elizabeth Galeucia and Emerson Martin. Elizabeth comes from a background in animal science. Emerson studied horticulture and grew up on a small raw goat dairy. We raise a variety of 100% grass-fed, pasture and woodland grazed meat and eggs. All of our livestock are managed using intensive rotational grazing methods which means we move all of our animals to a fresh new pasture daily. This method is healthy for both the soil and the animals! We uphold high animal welfare standards. Every animal is able to express their instinctual behaviors and species-specific characteristics to remain healthy.

What is in the share?

Monthly, you will a mix of seasonal meats. Our meats include heritage breed lamb, chevon (goat), beef, chicken, pork and duck.

All of the meat you will be getting is raised organically with the highest welfare standards. Our sheep, goats and cows are 100% grass fed and rotationally grazed. This means they are fed exclusively grass and are rotated to a fresh, new area of pasture every couple of days. Our chickens, ducks and pigs are fed organic, local, non-gmo grains and are raised on pasture their entire lives. We also rotationally graze them. Our lay hens and pigs have access to organic food scraps, nuts, berries and other forages growing on our farm.

Benefits to purchasing a share?

By purchasing a CSA share you will receive all the items in the share at a lower price compared to buying them individually. You will also be directly supporting the farmers by providing them with funds to jumpstart their growing season. This allows them to purchase the necessary equipment and supplies to grow food. You get to connect with your food and experience the ups and downs of our farming journey. Most importantly you will be supporting Organic and Biodynamic agriculture!

How many people does a share feed?

2 to 5 people but it depends on your eating habits. All the meat except for freshly butchered chicken and duck will come frozen. If you are unable to eat all your meat in between pick up times you can keep it stored in your freezer for up to a year!

Can I make substitutions for different items?

We unfortunately, cannot accommodate substitutions at this time.

  • We do offer some choices at pick up though of the same valued items.

  • An example would be lamb stew meat for ground lamb.

  • Choices are offered only when available.
